Pokemon Legends Arceus challenges players with a variety of post-game quests, and capturing the forces of nature is among the most demanding tasks. Tornadus, the Flying-type Legendary Pokemon, presents a unique test of patience and preparation in the snowy reaches of Hisui. Understanding the exact weather conditions and battle strategies will help you add this powerful creature to your Pokedex efficiently.

Unlocking the Incarnate Forces Quest

Before you can track down Tornadus, you must complete the main story mission titled Seeking the Remaining Plates. Returning to Jubilife Village afterward triggers Request 94, known as Incarnate Forces of Hisui, from Cogita in Galaxy Hall. This request tasks you with locating and capturing the legendary forces of nature scattered across the region.

Accepting this quest unlocks the ability to encounter Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus in their respective biomes. You can tackle these legendary encounters in any order, but preparation is essential before setting out into the wilderness.

Locating Tornadus in Alabaster Icelands

Tornadus spawns exclusively in the Alabaster Icelands, specifically around the Bonechill Wastes region. However, the legendary Pokemon will only appear when a severe blizzard is active in the area. Standard snowfall is not enough to trigger its appearance, so you must monitor the weather closely.

To force a blizzard, rest at any base camp until a different time of day until the weather icon displays a wind-blown snowflake. Once the harsh snowstorm begins, travel immediately to the Bonechill Wastes to locate Tornadus roaming the field.

Breaking the Wind Barrier and Battling

Approaching Tornadus is tricky because it surrounds itself with a protective barrier of fierce winds and hurls dangerous tornadoes at you. Wild Pokemon like Glalie in the surrounding area can easily complicate the encounter, so taking them out first is highly recommended. Using stealth items like Smoke Bombs or Stealth Spray helps you get within range without drawing unwanted attention.

To stun Tornadus, throw items like Sticky Globs, Mud Balls, or Feather Balls directly at its wind shield to break it. You must hit it multiple times until the shield drops completely and the Pokemon becomes stunned. Once stunned, quickly throw a partner Pokemon into battle to start the fight, weaken Tornadus using Rock, Ice, or Electric-type attacks, and secure the catch with high-tier Poke Balls.
